Each-Way Top Scorer Tip: Charlie Austin
Some strikers can make the step up from the Championship and this looks like another one. With Suarez and Bale long gone, the paid places in this market are up for grabs.
In recent seasons we have seen that it is possible for successful strikers from the Championship to make the step up to the top flight; Rickie Lambert springs to mind but Grant Holt also fared well at Norwich.
In a similar vein, QPR predator Charlie Austin finally gets his crack at the big time after doing his time at the lower levels. The former bricklayer has enjoyed success wherever he has been having found the net prolifically for Swindon and Burnley before he signed up with the Hoops a year ago.
If anything, the difference between him and Lambert is that at 25-year-olds, it should come as no surprise if Austin continues to get better having reached the Premier League. He fired 20 goals in 37 appearances in 2013-14 to follow on from 28 in 40 games for the Clarets the year before.
Austin is an instinctive marksman and Harry Redknapp will surely give him his chance to prosper at the highest level as the net has continued to bulge in pre-season. At a best price of 100/1 (PaddyPower) he is an excellent each-way bet in the top goalscorer market with quarter odds paid out if he finishes in the top four.
