Crystal Palace v Arsenal Tip

The Eagles have lost five matches on the spin and now there manager as well.

This fixture looked incredibly daunting for Palace even before they got hammered 4-1 at home by Fulham and their manager departed this week. Now it looks like an impossible task.

It seems foolish to bet on anything other than an away win but the trouble inevitably centres on how to find an attractive price. An Arsenal win isn’t overly alluring at nothing longer than 4/11 (Betfred), but the Gunners to win to nil looks like a bargain at best odds of 6/4 with Coral.

The Eagles have only found the net in half their fixtures, scoring more than one only against Sunderland back in August. You can be sure than Arsene Wenger will be targeting a first away clean sheet in the league this season, and Saturday provides a golden opportunity for that.

The newly promoted outfit are woefully short of proven goalscorers at this level. Club record signing Dwight Gayle is still adjusting to the top flight, ex-Gunner Marouane Chamakh hasn’t settled while last season’s 30-goal hero Glenn Murray remains on the sidelines and is hugely missed.
