Chelsea v Crystal Palace Tip
With only one goal conceded in their last five games, the Eagles have the best defensive record in the top flight since early November.
Crystal Palace are being offered up at a huge best price of 20/1 (BetVictor) to win at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and that would indeed be a shock of seismic proportions considering that Mourinho has never lost a league game at Stamford Bridge.
However, the Eagles are in resurgent form after three victories in their last four fixtures and Tony Pulis has helped breathe new life into the dressing room. The cornerstone of the Palace revival is the defence, which has only been breached once in the past five outings. Nobody in the Premier League can rival that sequence.
Mourinho remains deeply frustrated by his strikers’ lack of killer instinct and it’s just possible that the visitors could capitalise by claiming yet another clean sheet. However, it’s hard to see them actually snatching three points having only mustered three away goals all season.
But I think it’s very safe to assume that every Palace fan would wholeheartedly take a 0-0 draw at Chelsea and that must be more likely than the huge price of (20/1 Coral) suggests.
