Cardiff v Sunderland Tip
The hosts are in turmoil and there will be a strong whiff of mutiny in the air.
Sunderland are a best price 21/10 (BetFred) to win for the second time in three days and, in truth, I would back just about anyone to beat troubled Cardiff at this moment in time.
Malky Mackay has finally been pushed out the door by pantomime villain Vincent Tan and the natives will be incredibly restless at Cardiff City Stadium this evening. The Bluebirds have only taken one win from their last eight and a relegation fight now looks well and truly on the cards.
In contrast, Gus Poyet has slowly revitalised his men and the Black Cats picked up a huge bonus by defeating mighty Everton at Goodison Park on Boxing day. That victory may have owed much to a sending off, but the effect on Sunderland’s morale will be significant regardless.
The Mackems have tightened right up at the back with three clean sheets in their last four outings and they might be off the bottom by the close of play.
