Adam Can Test The Patience Of The Saints
This Stoke midfielder is getting back to being the player who scored 12 Premier League goals for Blackpool in 2010-11.
He’s one of the top scoring midfielders in the Premier League, and at best odds of 6/1 (BetFred) to score anytime on Saturday, Charlie Adam rates as excellent value.
The Scotland international proved he was adept at shooting from distance when he grabbed 16 goals for promoted Blackpool in the Championship during 2009-10. Any fears he wouldn’t make the step up were then confounded when he found the net 12 times for the Seasiders the following season.
A big move to Liverpool followed, and didn’t really work out, but Adam is now thriving at the heart of everything Stoke City do. The 28-year-old has scored seven in all competitions this term including the winner against Man Utd last weekend.
His confidence is high and he can trouble a Southampton defence who seemingly used up most of their clean sheets in the first part of 2013-14.
