Premier League: Draw Double Tips

Lambert is still working wonders

Everton are liable to drop points at home again. Wolves and Stoke will be well-matched at Molineux.

Everton are having a funny old season where the next setback never looks too far away. They are strongly fancied to win at home to Norwich on Saturday, but the burden of expectation for games like this at Goodison Park can be a hindrance. Wolves host Stoke in a fixture that Mick McCarthy will have highlighted as a good opportunity for three points. But the Potters are seven points ahead in the table for a reason. Both these games look like nailed-on draws, and I recommend backing the double at a best price of 12/1 with VictorChandler.

Everton have come unstuck in front of their own fans a few times already this campaign. Defeats to Liverpool and Man United may be understandable, but reverses against QPR and Stoke were major disappointments. Home prospects won’t be helped this time by the likely absence of Leon Osman, Jack Rodwell and Royston Drenthe.

Norwich will travel to Merseyside in excellent heart following last weekend’s 4-2 victory over Newcastle. The away points tally doesn’t yet do justice to a series of commendable performances away from Carrow Road since re-joining the top division. Even so, the league table shows Norwich three points ahead of their next opponents, so they have nothing to fear. The Canaries will travel with confidence, and I can see no reason not to back the spoils to be shared at 3/1 (VictorChandler).

Stoke head to Molineux hunting a fourth consecutive league win. If this match was taking place at the Britannia Stadium nobody would be doubting that eventuality either. But questions still remain as to Pulis’s side’s ability to keep picking up victories on their travels consistently. The win at Everton was impressive, but it was only their second three-pointer away this season.

Wolves have survived this long in the Premier League by clawing out results when they really need to on their own patch. Wigan and Sunderland have both lost here recently, but Stoke are eighth in the table and represent a step up in class. I don’t think a stalemate would be the end of the world for either side either, which always makes it a slightly more likely outcome as well.

The best individual draw odds for this one are 23/10 (PaddyPower) but for the lucrartive double we can do no better than the 12/1 with VictorChandler.
