Premier League Betting: Chelsea Edge Closer

Chelsea are 8/1 to win the title after a 3-1 win against Blackpool. The gap to leaders United is nine points, with a game in hand.

Chelsea have been clipped into 8/1 for the Premier League after stalwarts Lampard and Terry helped the team to a 3-1 win over Blackpool.

In an entertaining game, Blackpool gave Chelsea a scare, hitting the post in the first half when a goal behind. Two second half goals from Lampard put the game to bed, before a late rally from Ian Holloway’s men saw them grab a consolation goal.

In the end Chelsea had the extra quality to see them to victory, despite Torres and Drogba failing to fire. The result leaves the Blues nine points behind United with a game in hand.

The bookmakers didn’t expect Blackpool to take anything from the match. But despite the unsurprising result, the same bookmakers have cut Blackpool’s relegation odds. They are now evens to be relegated having been 6/5.
