Premier League Antepost Tips: Everton Top 6

The bookies have deserted Everton, along with David Moyes, but surely some faith should be shown in Roberto Martinez.

Everton finished top six last season but aren’t given much of a prayer of repeating that feat with a best price of 9/2 (Skybet) being offered up in that very market.

This is clearly a reaction to the departure of David Moyes but there is a case for saying that they now have an equally capable man at the helm in Roberto Martinez. So far the much talked about exits of Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini haven’t transpired and it seems unlikely, at least to me, that they would ever sell both this summer.

Furthermore, the signing of Arouna Kone could be a shrewd piece of business up front. The Ivory Coast striker may even spark a revival in Nikica Jelavic who disappointed last term but performed superbly before that.

It’s true Liverpool should be better this season, but Everton aren’t just going to go away, and therefore we have ourselves a bargain at the price of 9/2.
