Norwich v Sunderland Tip

The Canaries have been chirping away of late and it could continue on Sunday.

It’s a simple case of following the form at Carrow Road where the hosts have won their last three league outings 1-0. Norwich are a best price 6/1 (Betfred) to repeat the trick once again and with Sunderland in town it looks on.

The transformation of Chris Hughton’s team over the past six weeks has been striking. Nobody in the top flight is currently looking better defensively and a string of home clean sheets has been the bedrock of a seven match unbeaten stretch.

The picture looks bleak for the Black Cats who have won just two of their last 21 league matches. It’s only the timing of the football calender that currently stops them from being in truly dire relegation trouble. With only 36 shots on target in 2012-13, they still offer the worst goal threat in the entire division.

The absence of captain Cattermole will be a further blow to Martin O’Neill this afternoon. Even history appears to be against the Mackems who have lost this fixture six times on the bounce. Everything points to a low-scoring home win so we would be foolish not to go for it.
