Norwich v Arsenal Tip

Holt: 2 in 2

It was a six-goal thriller last time these sides met and the Canaries are leaking badly.

The TV cameras will head to Carrow Road on Saturday evening with high expectations of being entertained. It was 3-3 when these sides last met in May and the net should be bulging again here. Bet365 go 6/4 on there being over 3.5 goals in the match and that looks more than likely.

The difference to 2011-12 is that you would now expect Arsenal to dominate proceedings against their Norfolk hosts. Norwich had a fine first campaign back in the top flight but the dreaded ‘second season syndrome’ now appears to have struck. The Canaries are coming in off the back of a 4-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge and a 5-2 hammering to Liverpool on their own patch.

The good news from those outings was the return to goalscoring form of Grant Holt. Last year’s leading man appears to have his sharpness back and could make a valuable contribution to a winning bet here for us, even if it’s unlikely to win the game for his team.

The Gunners have already shown their customary appetite for goals by putting six past Southampton and Coventry in September. All in, they’ve found the net 22 times in their last seven outings and will be licking their lips against opponents who have allowed 41 shots on target against them already in seven league fixtures.
