Manchester Utd v Liverpool Tip
The England striker is bang on form while the return of a controversial Uruguayan gives us value.
Manchester United may be in the doldrums after a 4-1 pasting at the hands of neighbours City at the weekend, but one man, Wayne Rooney is enjoying his own personal revival. His late consolation at the Etihad made it four goals in three appearances and at a best price of 6/1 (Ladbrokes) he looks the best bet in the first goalscorer market tonight.
The England striker is always among the most likely to find the net when on his game, but there are further reasons for expectation here. Robin Van Persie is likely to remain on the sidelines with a groin injury which immediately promotes Rooney to most likely United scorer. The 27-year-old has netted three times in his last three home clashes with Liverpool in all competitions.
But another great reason to back Rooney at 6/1 with Ladbrokes is that they are offering money-back on losing first goalscorer bets if the returning Luis Suarez strikes at any time. After 30 goals in 44 appearances in 2012-13, our chances of at least a refund look pretty high here.
