Rooney could be the difference between two sides who don't let many in.
The confidence that Manchester United will have gained from retrieving a 3-0 deficit at Stamford Bridge last Sunday is hard to understate. Two Wayne Rooney penalties got the champions back in business when all seemed lost; Liverpool should be fearful as they head to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils may have recently lost in the FA Cup at Anfield but that was without the talismanic Rooney. The England striker dispatched his spot-kicks with a swagger that suggests that he is about to go on another one of his goalscoring runs. Don’t be surprised if he gets another chance from 12 yards either; this fixture has yielded four penalties in the last six league clashes.
United have won 29 of their last 33 league games at the Theatre of Dreams; they are a best price 9/10 (BetVictor) to do so again on Saturday afternoon. Rooney, with 20 goals in all competitions already this season, is 6/5 (Coral) to score in the anytime betting.
