Man Utd v Liverpool Tip

RVP is on spectacular form and the Reds will have to be at their best to halt his goal rush.

Opportunities to exploit any whiff of value on Robin Van Persie need to be exploited, particularly at this moment in time. The Dutch master is on sensational form and Coral offer 6/1 on him scoring two or more on Sunday, twice the price of some other firms. It could be a bargain.

The former Arsenal star is nothing longer than 20/21 (Bluesquare) to score once and you can see why. Van Persie has already bagged 20 goals across all competitions for United in 2012-13 and he has five in his last six Premier League appearances against Liverpool, including the winner at Anfield earlier in the season.

But the reason why we can take a punt on him scoring a double (or more) is his recent heroics. On the face of it the 29-year-old has found the net five times in his last four appearances, but it’s actually been even better than that suggests.

After scoring in the 71st minute against Newcastle on Boxing Day, RVP came off the bench to strike against WBA three days later. After that he fired a brace at Wigan before grabbing a dramatic injury-time equaliser against West Ham, again as a substitute.

In total Van Persie’s last five goals have come in approximately 156 minutes on the pitch, the equivalent of considerably less than two matches. Ferguson has kept his talisman fresh and will now expect him to last the duration for this big fixture. The statisitcs would suggest that he could cause some damage for the flying league leaders.

1pt To score 2 or more: Robin Van Persie 6/1 with Coral
