Liverpool v Young Boys Tip

This Argentine striker has scored 4 in his last 2 in Europe and against credible opposition.

The Reds bias is alive and well with the hosts 2/5 (Betfred) to beat Young Boys (8/1 StanJames) on Thursday evening. Group A is fascinatingly poised with all four teams still holding genuine hopes of progressing with two matches remaining.

The reality is that Liverpool and Young Boys have six points apiece and there’s nothing like the gulf in class that the odds suggest - at least when you consider that Brendan Rodgers likes to rotate his squad for Europe.

However, on this occasion I won’t directly oppose the Merseysiders as you have to accept that their form is improving and the signs are that Suarez and Gerrard will play a part in the match. Instead, I’ll play to the strength of the visitors - their goalscoring. Martin Rueda’s side have found the net 10 times in this group, more than anybody else.

One man in particular is looking razor-sharp and the best bet to score at Anfield. Raul Bobadilla has 12 goals already this season but more importantly he is on fire in Europe. The Argentine striker has proved the scourge of Udinese after grabbing a hat-trick in the 3-1 victory over them in Berne before netting again in the Italians’ backyard as Young Boys completed a noteworthy double 3-2.

When you consider that Udinese came to Liverpool and won, this should be a tricky encounter for the Reds. Bobadilla is a best price 10/3 (Bluesquare) to score anytime on the night and that looks like a bargain.
