Liverpool v West Brom Tip

WBA are having a torrid time lately while the Reds are improving by the week.

Liverpool are one of the most improved teams in the Premier League but they are yet to pick up the results that their recent performance levels really deserve. Consecutive 2-2 draws away to Arsenal and Manchester City sound creditable, but the truth is they were actually the better team in both fixtures and should have left with more.

The Reds now have a chance to re-enter the top six as they play twice at Anfield over the next week while all the other big boys take a break from top flight action. First up it’s a West Brom side on Monday night who are in freefall after eight winless outings in all competitions (D2 L6). The Baggies’ plight has not been helped by the fall-out from the Peter Odemwingie affair, who may return for this one.

From a betting perspective, the issue really is how to extract value when the home win is so likely, nothing longer than 2/5 with PaddyPower. I’ve decided that margin of victory is the way to go with Liverpool attractively offered up at 13/2 (PaddyPower) to win by four goals or more.

Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard are all on fire and full of goals and I just can’t see the visitors having an answer at this moment in time. Brendan Rodgers’ side have won their last three games at Anfield 5-0, 3-0 and 4-0 which shows the current strength of the Merseysiders at both ends of the pitch.

With those recent results in mind, this bold prediction seems less outrageous, especially at pretty long odds.
