Liverpool v Brighton Tip

Poyet: Has enjoyed success on the south coast.

Reds fans expecting an easy side on Sunday could be in for a tense afternoon.

The price has drifted on both teams to score with Skybet - now at market-leading odds of 11/8 - that looks like a bargain.

Of course everybody will expect Liverpool to score at Anfield, so the big question is how likely are the Seagulls to find the net? Well, in a game that they will surely relish as one of the biggest in their career,  I would suggest pretty likely. Gus Poyet’s side are enjoying an excellent 2012; they have scored in all 10 of their matches in league and cup, and they remain unbeaten in that time.

Brighton have already shown they can beat Premier League opposition recently. Newcastle, who sit above Liverpool in the table, were knocked out at the Amex Stadium in the last round. Liverpool will be even tougher on their own patch, but the Championship side are still likely to have a real go. They scored against the Reds in a 2-1 loss in the Carling Cup and this could be a similarly competitive fixture.
