Liverpool cut for Top Four Finish

Bookmakers think the Champion's League is back on for a revitalised Liverpool side. Plus the latest relegation betting after a crazy weekend.

After a crazy weekend of Premier League football when everything was thrown up in the air, Liverpool have landed on their feet according to the bookmakers. Victor Chandler now rate Liverpool just a 5/1 chance to finish in the top four after they recorded their fourth consecutive league win at the expense of Torres and his Chelsea.

In the title race Man City and Tottenham were the main beneficiaries of the madness, with City into 14/1 (from 25/1) for the title. Bookmakers remain unconvinced that Harry Redknapp’s team can sustain their challenge and are a best price 80/1 with William Hill even though they are on the same number of points and games as 10/1 shots Chelsea.

The relegation market is still impossible to call with five teams all priced at 7/4 or lower to be relegated. The tightness of the league is encapsulated by the fact that thirteen teams are quoted in the relegation betting market with Bolton the outsiders at 50/1 to go down, even though they lie in seventh place Owen Coyle’s men are only seven points off the bottom three.
