Liverpool 5/2 For Top Four Finish

Recent events have seen Liverpool drift in the betting as they look to finish in the Champions League places.

It has not been the best week for Liverpool football club; with star striker Luis Suarez looking at an eight game ban his team dropped points away to Wigan on Wednesday night. That leaves Kenny Dalglish’s side in sixth position and two points behind fourth placed Chelsea, who have a game in hand.

With the title almost certainly gone, a top four finish is the next priority. That task has suddenly got harder, according to the bookmakers, who make Liverpool 5/2 (Bet365) to finish in the top four, having been 6/4 before the Wigan game.

With the Manchester sides betting certainties to make next season’s Champions League, the bookmakers rate Chelsea (2/5 with Coral) and Tottenham (4/7 with William Hill) as the other teams most likely to fill the lucrative top four spots.
