Leicester v Watford Tip

The Hornets only lost on the final day due to a freak set of occurrences. They are the better team in 2013.

The Championship play-offs commence on Thursday evening at the King Power Stadium and the visitors deserve to be backed to take a first leg lead at best odds of 14/5 (Bet365).

Watford missed out on automatic promotion by the narrowest of margins on the final day and if they have recovered from their disappointment, which I think they will have, then they are cracking value here. The Hornets finished third with nine more points than Leicester and have looked the better outfit for some while.

Indeed, the Foxes lost both league fixtures between the teams by a 2-1 margin this season, the most recent occasion being less than a fortnight ago, at the King Power Stadium. Zola’s boys scored a phenomenal 44 goals away from Vicarage Road in 2012-13; that’s nine better than anybody else in the division.

Leicester may have secured an excellent final day victory at the City Ground to sneak into sixth, but we should not be deceived. Best odds of 11/10 (PaddyPower) on the home win looks pretty unappealing when you consider that Pearson’t side have only won two of their last 13 outings.
