Champions Not Safe Yet

Hull beat Leicester on the opening day against the odds and the Foxes haven't proved they are in any way consistent yet.

The widely held view that Leicester City will be fine now puzzles me because they have been the masters of the false dawn all season. Indeed, they have singularly failed to win consecutive Premier League fixtures at all.

I’m going against the grain simply by backing that trend to continue. The draw at 27/10 (Paddy Power) looks generous.

Hull are the team who can claim to have seen a sustained improvement lately. Since the arrival of Marco Silva in mid January, the Tigers have beaten Liverpool, Bournemouth and Man Utd (in a cup game), drawn at Old Trafford and performed well at Arsenal and Chelsea without reward.

Fixtures and fortune have been unkind but there’s been plenty to suggest they can at least hold their own against champions who were scoreless in six league games before they surprised Liverpool on Monday.
