Fulham v Wigan Tip

StanJames are virtually the only firm not to cut the odds on a Wigan victory at Fulham this week and at best odds of 7/2 they offer great value. After sensational triumphs over Liverpool and Arsenal in their own backyards, and another at home to Manchester United, the Latics will surely fear nobody.

Fulham are made better than evens money favourites (19/20 WilliamHill) because of their excellent record at Craven Cottage. But they were hanging on against Norwich three weeks ago and Swansea left London with a 3-0 win before that. So they are far from invincible.

But ultimately this a bet based on the dramatic improvement of Wigan rather than the shortcomings of the hosts. They have beaten the best the Premier League can throw at them in recent weeks, winning four of their last five. They were even robbed at Chelsea. Importantly, performances have been outstanding and the results merited.

Quite simply, this should be a very close game and odds of 7/2 (StanJames) on another Wigan success don’t keep in line with that rationale at all.
