Fulham v Southampton Tip: Dimitar Berbatov

If Fulham keep creating chances they should break their drought against a Southampton team who travel poorly.

Fulham have been on an alarming run of results, with only one win in their last 10 games but their performances have been better than the bare form. Their biggest problem has been finding the back of the net. Three goals in six games is a poor return given the striking options Martin Jol has at his disposal.

A 4-0 defeat at Anfield at the weekend was another poor result but the encouraging news is that Fulham are still creating chances. In their last six games, they have had 21 shots on targets; normally you’d expect a return of six goals from those chances rather than a meagre three.

If they continue fashioning chances at the same rate they are bound to find the net sooner rather than later, especially against a Southampton side who are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home.

With 5 goals from 13 appearances, Dimitar Berbatov looks the man most likely to open the scoring at 5/1 (Bet365). He rates an excellent each-way bet, with 1/3 odds if he scores anytime during the match.
