Fulham v Man City Tip: Fulham Double Chance

Fulham have avoided defeat in 72% of home games over the last 5 seasons and face a City team below their best.

Sergio Aguero’s stoppage time winner against QPR must seem like a lifetime ago for Roberto Mancini. The irascible Italian seems even more irritable than usual and perhaps with good reason.

After seeing his team outplayed at the Etihad by Arsenal, they crashed out of the Capital One Cup against a struggling Aston Villa team. This doesn’t seem to have affected their standing with the bookmakers however. They rate the champions odds-on to win at Craven Cottage this weekend.

I cannot fathom how the bookmakers have arrived at this conclusion. They face a Fulham team who are now established in the Premier League and, despite losing some of their star players, they have recruited able replacements like Dimitar Berbatov.

Fulham Home Record Last 5 Season
Fulham Home Record

Over the last five seasons, Fulham have developed one of the strongest home records in the league, avoiding defeat 72% of the time. Represented as betting odds, that makes them approximately a 4/11 chance to avoid defeat.

In the double chance market, Fulham/Draw is a best price evens with Bet365. Against a City side at their peak this would be a fair bet but against a side well below their best it is cracking value.
