Crawley Town travel to Old Trafford as one of the biggest underdogs in football history.
The FA Cup fifth round brings together two teams of similar standing. Both are going well in the Premier league, both hated by rival fans and both nicknamed the Red Devils. It’s less of a football match more a scene with Dr Evil and Mini-Me.
I may have neglected one minor detail. Manchester United are 11/4 to win the FA Cup, Crawley Town are 2500/1. More of a Super Power versus Austin Powers then.
Crawley Town are best odds 28/1 with Boylesports to pull off one of the biggest cup upsets of all time and are 9/2 with William Hill to lead at any point during the match.
The bookmakers predict such a one-sided game that the first goalscorer market has 16 United players at shorter odds than the first Crawley Town player. If you do fancy the upset then leading scorer Matthew Tubbs is 20/1 to score first with Bet365.
Blue Square have released numerous novelty markets for the match including which player will get Wayne Rooney’s shirt at the end of the game. Captain Pablo Mills is 4/1 favourite in the betting, perhaps as leader he gets first dibs.
