Europa League Betting: Liverpool Edge Closer

Liverpool did just enough with a draw in Prague but Rangers have drifted to 100/1 after conceding a late goal at Ibrox.

A goalless draw against Sparta Prague was good enough for Liverpool to stay unchanged in the outright betting. Only Bet365 were left underwhelmed and nudged Dalglish’s team out to 7/1 to win the Europa League.

At Ibrox an 89th minute equaliser for Sporting Lisbon could prove crucial in facilitating their progress to the next round. Rangers are left needing a win or high scoring draw to progress and have been pushed out to 100/1 to win the tournament.

Elsewhere the results tended to favour the away team with seven away wins in total. All these teams have shortened in the betting but the big movers are Porto and Dynamo Kiev.

An 85th minute strike by Fredy Guarín gave Porto a 2-1 win at Sevilla and puts them in a commanding position. The bookmakers were suitably impressed and make them 7/1 second favourites.

Over in Turkey, Andriy Shevchenko got on the scoresheet as Dynamo Kiev thumped Besiktas 4-1. Progress to the last 16 should be a formality and Kiev are now 33/1 (from 40/1) in the outright betting.

It was also a good night for our football tips as the recommended draw double of Liverpool and Rangers came in at a tasty 10/1.
