Modric is a wanted man.

The new man may want some familiar faces around him. Porto may be resigned to losing a couple of their biggest stars.

Andre Villas-Boas now has his feet under the desk at Stamford Bridge and the media are already speculating over which of his Porto favourites he will be bringing with him to England. The Portuguese side’s club president has slapped a combined £62m fee on star striker Falcoa and playmaker Joao Moutinho, who are believed to have termination clauses in their contracts.

Colombian ace Falcao scored an extraordinary 17 goals in 14 games in the Europa League success alone last season; he is just 4/9 to follow his manager out the door according to PaddyPower. The same firm make Moutinho, who has won 33 caps for his countrty, 4/5 to join Chelsea. Away from Porto, perhaps another bid for Tottenham’s Luka Modric is in the pipeline. A bid of £22m was recently laughed off at White Hart Lane but the Croatian schemer remains just 13/8 to cross the capital. Roman Abramovich will surely look to offload a few of the current big names to bankroll any potential new purchases.

SkyBet go 9/4 on Villas-Boas going unbeaten in his first 10 league games at his new club. He is 3/1 to make such a big instant impression in London that he is named August Manager of the Month.
