The Belgian star has been wreaking havoc for many months now.
Nobody has scored as many Premier League goals as Christian Benteke in 2013 (16) which makes a nonsense of best odds of 7/2 (Betfred) on him scoring against Chelsea on Wednesday night.
Obviously the Europa League champions are expected to win - they did so by an 8-0 margin last season - but the Belgian striker will always carry a threat for the visitors.
The 22-year-old bagged a brace at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as Villa ran out unexpected 3-1 victors over Arsenal. It’s also worth remembering that they won by the same margin at Anfield last term when Benteke also struck twice.
Stamford Bridge is admittedly another rung up the ladder, but Lambert’s boys don’t need to triumph for us to make money.
Villa have been much improved on their travels for a little while now. They have only lost one of their last six away outings (W4 D1 L1) in the top flight and Benteke has found the net four times in the five fixtures he has played in that sequence.
He is the same price as Victor Moses in the anytime market; a man who scored one league goal in 2012-13. The Chelsea bias is just too extreme and we should take advantage.
