Tottenham have the disadvantage of playing at Wembley whilst Monaco have won their last 5 games including beating PSG.
Tottenham’s return to the Champions League has something of a Europa League feel to it as they are drawn in the same group as Monaco, just as they were in the second tier competition last season.
Tottenham had the best of the two games, drawing in Monaco and winning at White Hart Lane but things are different this season. For starters Tottenham will be playing at Wembley and the different pitch and surroundings negates some of their home field advantage. Secondly they face a much better Monaco team.
The principality have started the season well, they sit top of Ligue 1 having beaten PSG at the end of August and came through qualifying for the Champions League beating Villarreal in both legs.
Two seasons back, Monaco dumped Arsenal out of this competition and they are a team that shouldn’t be taken lightly. At 4/1 (William Hill) an away win is the play.
