Bolton v Arsenal Tip
Arsenal must surely end their run of league defeats. But sharing the spoils maybe the best they can do.
Arsenal have lost three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since April 2007 and will be desperate to stop the rot at the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday night. Bolton have found some form, winning their last three in all competitions - all at home. But the Gunners will surely take some heart from their comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Villa at the weekend. At best odds of 17/4 (BetVictor), the score draw looks the best value bet.
Arsene Wenger’s team have won nine of their last ten league encounters with the Trotters, but the trip to the Reebok last April ended in 2-1 defeat. Bolton are 9/2 (Skybet) to take the three points again, but I just think the Londoners will have a grim determination to avoid defeat again at all costs. And where there’s Van Persie, there is always hope. The top flight’s leading scorer shows no signs of losing his touch.
If we think the match will end level then the score draw looks like a no-brainer. Clean sheets? Well, Bolton have conceded the most goals in the Premier League at home (25). Arsenal have picked the ball out of their own net the most times of any away side in the division (25).
