Blackpool New Relegation Favourites

Blackpool on a precipice

Blackpool slipped into the bottom three for the first time this season as Wigan’s chances of survival increase.

It was a poor weekend for Ian Holloway as his team slipped further into the relegation mire. Since the turn of the year Blackpool have won two out of sixteen games. Defeat against Wigan this weekend means they are now 4/11 favourites for an immediate return to the Championship.

For Wigan it was the first time they have been out of the relegation zone since the beginning of February. Having been as short as 1/5, the Latics are now 5/6 with Betfred to drop out of the league.

Wins for Aston Villa and Birmingham were enough to ease their worries and the bookmakers make them long shots for relegation. According to the betting it is any three from five.
