Gunners Arrive At Wembley Full Of Dread

Arsenal imploded in the 2011 League Cup final against soon to be relegated Birmingham. Can they handle cup specialists Wigan this time round?

The pressure on Arsenal will feel close to unbearable this evening as the bid to end the club’s long trophy drought reaches another pivotal moment. They haven’t responded well to such situations before, and another famous Wigan win is too big a price to resist at best odds of 13/2 with Bet365.

The Latics have won twice at the new Wembley before, most notably to claim the FA Cup last season. Remarkably, they are pushing to retain the famous old trophy after defeating three top flight clubs in the 2013-14 competition already; Palace, Cardiff and Man City (again) couldn’t stop Uwe Rosler’s boys.

While Wigan reside comfortably in the Championship play-off places after a good run, the Gunners haven’t won any of their last four and were recently torn to shreds by Chelsea (6-0) and Everton (3-0). It’s impossible not to take the value by backing against the team with everything to lose here.
