Belgium v Scotland Tip

The star-studded Belgians should put the final nail in the coffin for the hapless Levein.

Wales beat Scotland 2-1, Serbia beat Wales 6-1 and Belgium beat Serbia 3-0 in Serbia. So what on earth should we expect Belgium to do to a deflated Scotland in Brussels?

The bookies are clearly anticipating another bad night for Craig Levein so we have to look to the half-time/full-time market to find a decent price. Belgium are a best price evens (Ladbrokes) to lead at the break and at the end. It could signal the departure of the Scottish boss.

Belgium appear to be emerging as a new major force in European football. The Premier League has certainly noticed the talent at Marc Wilmots disposal and claimed most of it; Kompany, Vermaelan, Vertongen, Dembele, Fellaini, Hazard and Lukaku…the list goes on. They have all been brought in by the biggest clubs in England.

The Red Devils made a real statement on Friday night by defeating the lively Serbs 3-0 in their own backyard. That put them top of Group A and Croatia will have their work cut out overhauling them. Belgium have lost just one of their last 11 competitive fixtures (in Germany) and none of their last 10 in Brussels (W5 D5).

The Tartan Army, sadly, appear to be lambs to the slaughter after their late collapse in Cardiff. Levein is under huge pressure and only a miracle can save him now. Unfortunately, his legacy is likely to be the 4-6-0 formation he played against the Czech Republic in Euro 2012 qualifying which infuriated the fans with its crass negativity.

After just three wins in 11 competitive fixtures, two of those against minnows Liechtenstein,  the writing appears to be on the wall.
