One of the stars for the Swiss outfit who defeated Spurs in the quarter finals.
After taking a gamble that paid off on Mohamed Salah scoring against Tottenham in the last round, we have the price to go again with the same man versus Chelsea. He is best odds of 7/2 (Coral) to find the net anytime on Thursday evening and his form makes that look enticing.
Salah followed his strike against Spurs a fortnight ago with another against FC Zurich in Basel’s very next match. That took his tally to three in five matches in April.
As indicated previously, this burst of goalscoring form appeared to be coming from the sheer quantity of shots that the 20-year-old was getting. He fired in seven attempts over two clashes with Tottenham and eight in just 90 minutes when Zenit came to St-Jakob Park in the round of 16.
Chelsea have conceded in every one of their last five Europa League outings including twice against Rubin Kazan last time out. Salah is as likely to be a thorn in Rafa Benitez’s side as anyone in this semi-final first leg.
