6th Dec 2016 | Champions League
Basel v Arsenal Preview

Arsenal’s position in Group A is out of their hands whilst Basel have plenty to play for and have a good record at home.
Arsenal’s progression into the knockout stages of the Champions League is assured but because of their head-to-head record with PSG, they need to better the French team’s result to win the group.
PSG are at home to Ludogorets Razgrad and are 2/13 to win, which means Arsenal are resigned to second place in Group A. Arsene Wenger might use the opportunity to rest some key players but even if he doesn’t Basel are value to win at home.
In ten home games this season (all competitions) Basel have won 7, drawn 2 and lost 1 – that sole defeat came in the 90th minute when down to ten men against PSG.
The Swiss team have the incentive of a Europa League place, a competition they could actually win. They need to better Ludogorets Razgrad’s result but they have the easier fixture and are a good bet at 13/5 with Betfair.
