Aston Villa v Wigan Tip: Both Teams To Score
It could be goals galore with a pair of leaky defences on display.
Aston Villa host Wigan on Saturday and although the match might not look like a classic, it is fascinating from a betting perspective.
Both teams find themselves in a relegation battle on account of their leaky defences and impotent strike forces, not a happy combination.
Matches where Villa or Wigan have failed to score: 15/38
Matches where Villa or Wigan have kept a clean sheet: 7/38
The big question now is whether the game will be low scoring because of their inability to score or will their porous defences have a bigger influence on the game? I’m firmly in the latter school of thought. Goals in football are often scored because of a defensive mistake somewhere down the line, moments of genius are few and far between by their very nature.
Pundits might describe this as a game where the ‘attackers are on top’ but in reality it will be shambolic defences to the fore. Therefore 4/5 (Bet365) on both teams to score looks like the sensible bet.
