Only Messi and Ronaldo have scored more in Europe's top five leagues since the turn of the year.
Christian Benteke delivered for us on Wednesday evening at Chelsea and we have no reason to desert the Belgian international just yet with the market continuing to throw up value when Villa play the big boys.
The 22-year-old is a best price 15/8 (StanJames) to find the net anytime against Liverpool; not bad for the man who has scored three more Premier League goals in 2013 (17) than any other player!
The only logical explanation for the generous price is that players are meant to be less successful against the best opponents. But Benteke has already scored three in two games in 2013-14, having only ventured out at the supposedly daunting venues of the Emirates and Stamford Bridge.
Furthermore, the former Genk striker also scored three in two outings against Liverpool last season. He bagged a brace in a shock win 3-1 win for Lambert’s boys at Anfield in December before striking again at Villa Park at the end of the March.
The weight of evidence in favour of this bet is pretty overwhelming.
