Arsenal Stars Near Exit

Fabregas On His Way

Transfer rumours surround Arsenal in the weekend’s paper, but it is talk of departures not arrivals at the Emirates.

After six years without a trophy, most Arsenal fans have been imploring Arsene Wenger to dip into the transfer market. Unfortunately most of the paper talk is about those leaving rather than reinforcements arriving.

Barcelona have tabled a £35million bid for Cesc Fabregas but it is rumoured that the club won’t let their captain leave for less than £40million. The bookmakers think this perennial summer saga is close to finishing. William Hill go 2/7 that Fabergas is not an Arsenal player by then end of the transfer window.

Samir Nasri could also be on his way this summer. After refusing to sign a contract extension, Arsenal might be forced to cash in on their French winger before his deal expires next year. Manchester looks the most likely destination; he is 8/13 to join United and 6/5 to join City.

If either of these moves take shape, Wenger would have plenty of money to spend. According to Skybet his most likely signings are the English trio of Gary Cahill 1/3, Jermain Defoe 4/7 and Joey Barton 7/4.
