Arsenal Odds 2012-13

RVP: Top PL scorer last season

Will the exit of RVP mean RIP to Arsenal's hopes of glory this season? We look at the best ante-post bets to consider for the Gunners.

Best Title Odds: 14/1 (Bet365)

Value Bet: 11/4 (Skybet) - PL w/o Man City & Man Utd.

The bookies have Chelsea as odds-on to be the highest finishing team outside of Manchester but Arsenal were third last term, six points ahead of the Blues who ended sixth.

Summary:

With Robin Van Persie now bound for Old Trafford, Arsene Wenger went out of his way to soften the blow before it actually happened. Podolski and Giroud should be shrewd additions with Spanish international Santi Cazorla regarded as a potential marquee signing.

Verdict:

It looks more likely that the Gunners will face a fight to finish in the top four rather than bridge the gap with the Manchester clubs. However, cup glory is a realistic possibility and best odds of 7/2 (StanJames) on Arsenal winning any major trophy looks very reasonable.
