Newbury Tips: Signor Sassi
Finished last season on a high, beating the useful Saloomy, who boosted the form at Ascot last weekend.
Last week we were desperately unlucky when Saloomy was drawn on the wrong side at Ascot but he still won his group, thus boosting the form of Signor Sassi, who runs in the 2.40 Newbury.
Signor Sassi beat Saloomy by 0.75 lengths last September, looking a useful sprinter in the making. He then ran a blinder at Ascot from a bad draw. He was forced to race away from the main pack, on ground softer than he cares for, but was only beaten by 2.75 lengths.
With good ground and a better draw, he should go close because he looks tremendously well handicapped.
