Haydock Tips: Smart Daisy K
A combination of first time hood and drop in trip will help her settle and show her true ability.
Smart Daisy K finished a decent third last weekend and there are several good reasons why she can improve on that position in the 2.05 Haydock.
She is a headstrong filly who often compromises her chances by pulling too hard in her races, as she did at Chester last Saturday. To try rectify the problem trainer Andrew Hollinshead has fitted her with a hood for the first time, which can act as a pacifier.
Equally importantly, she drops back to 5f where the early pace is stronger, which again will help her settle better.
She handles cut in the ground, is a past course and distance winner and drawn in stall 15 she has the stand’s rail to run against, which can be a golden highway on occasions. She looks overpriced at 11/1 with Bet365.
