Haydock Tips: Wilamina
Ran fastest closing sectional in Listed race at Sandown but unable to reel in the winner who set perfect fractions in front.
Three-year-olds have won the last four renewals of the Dick Hern Fillies’ Stakes and Wilamina can keep up the impressive record for the younger generation.
Well supported last time at Sandown she was slightly unlucky in second. The winner was able to make all at an even tempo and despite Wilamina covering the final 4f quicker than anything else in the field, she couldn’t reel in the leader.
That is three good performances in a row from Martyn Meade’s filly and it’s worth remembering how impressive she was at Newmarket winning her maiden in a time 1.6s quicker than the first division.
One of only four horses contesting the 3.10 Haydock with a rating of 100-plus, this is an outstanding opportunity to win a Listed race.
