Haydock Tip: Medici Time

Won two of his three starts over five furlongs this season. His hold up style of running should be suited to the track.

The 3.00 at Haydock looks quite weak for a class two handicap. Zero Money is the best horse in the race but in the desperate search for quick ground he is forced to drop back to five furlongs. It might not be an issue but at 3/1, the price doesn’t compensate for the uncertainty.

Although the inside track is being used, yesterday’s racing at Haydock heavily favoured horses held up. Looking through the field Medici Time fits the bill. I flagged up this horse at York, but he was a late non-runner on account of the ground. The reasoning I used that day still holds.

Over five furlongs this season he has finished 114, with the only defeat coming against the smart Medicean Man. His record is so good over the minimum distance that he has recorded 5 wins from 15 starts. He looks massively overpriced at the current odds.
