Punchestowns takes on three rivals in the 3.45 at Kempton hoping to revive his chasing career. Out to 40/1 for the Gold Cup he will need to impress Nicky Henderson with his jumping to give him any chance of heading to Cheltenham for chasing’s blue riband event.
After a disappointing third in the Argento chase bookmakers reckon Punchestowns is more likely to revert to hurdling for the Festival. His lowest quotes are all for the World Hurdle, where he is 20/1 with Stan James.
