Cheltenham Day 2 Sectional Timings Preview

Altior stood out on sectional adjusted timings on day one and duly delivered with an emphatic performance in the Supreme Novice’s Hurdle. Here we preview to first four races on Tuesday from a time perspective.

1.30 Neptune Novices’ Hurdle

It looks a two horse race between Yanworth and Yorkhill with little to separate them. Welsh Shadow ran a fast time on his last outing and could improve for the step up in trip.

2.10 RSA Chase

A potential upset on the cards because neither More Of That nor No More Heroes have impressed on the clock. Seeyouatmidnight and Blaklion finished one-two at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day, the form looks solid and the time was good. Seeyouatmidnight ran the fastest closing sectional of the two.

2.50 Coral Cup

Baoulet Delaroque has the best sectional adjusted speed rating in the race and rated 140, is close to the bottom of the handicap. Three Kingdoms and The Romford Pele have run fast times in defeat.

3.30 Champion Chase

Sprinter Sacre and Un De Sceaux have both hit 150+ this season and if both are at their best we could be in for a classic. Of the old guard, Sire De Grugy looks opposable.

Felix Yonger is enjoying an excellent season, especially when kept to around 2-miles and might fill the places.
