HSBC Champions Tips: Lee Westwood

Shot the best gross score in Turkey despite losing the medal final and carries good form into China.

We might not have seen Lee Westwood’s best golf during the Ryder Cup but his level went up a notch in Turkey. The man from Worksop was 22 under for the week, one stroke better than Rose, although he lost the medal final to his fellow countryman.

The world number 4 continued his good form with a T14 finish at the BMW Masters and with an outside chance to win the Race to Dubai, the motivation to finish the season strongly is evident.

With finishes of T8-2-T13 in his last three HSBC Champions, albeit it at the Sheshan International GC, he is clearly suited to the challenge this tournament presents.

The 20/1 (Ladbrokes) therefore looks a shade big, especially as an each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
