HSBC Champions Golf Tips: Lee Westwood

Lee East Would

No worse than 12th in four attempts. A regular winner in this part of the world.

After a year that started with injury, it has taken almost 12 months for Lee Westwood to return to peak form. By no means has it been a poor year; apart from the Open, he finished in the top 11 in all the other majors and is ranked the second best golfer in the world.

What would he give for a major to be played in Asia? If that were the case, he’d surely have one in the bag by now. His two wins this season have been in Korea and Indonesia and he finished 5th in Shanghai last week. The Far East brings out the best in Westwood.

His record at the HSBC Champions tournament is almost unsurpassed. In the four times he has played at the Sheshan Golf Club he has finished no worse than 12th, with two second places thrown in for good measure.

The course suits, he is in sparkling form and at 9/1 with Paddy Power he looks very hard to beat.
