Travelers Championship Tips: Robert Streb

Only missed one cut this season and shot a 64 on Sunday to win Tom Watson’s charity event.

Whilst the golfing world was glued to Pinehurst on Sunday, Robert Streb was making waves at The Watson Challenge.

A charitable golf event hosted by Tom Watson, it’s not exactly the US Open but Streb showed off his talents by shooting an event record 64 on Sunday, to win the Watson Challenge on his debut.

The former Kansas State golfer has enjoyed a good season, only missing one cut in 12 starts with a best finish of T2 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The 27-year-old bombs it off the tee but is also 46th for scrambling to prove he has a short game.

Last year he finished T58 on his debut at the Travelers Championship but he was T32 after three rounds.

According to Tom Watson he ‘played [the] lights out on the back nine’ and in that kind of mood he is a lively outsider at 150/1 (William Hill).
