Travelers Championship: Charley Hoffman

Finished double bogey-bogey to gift the title to Marc Leishman last year. Arrives in good form and can right last year’s wrongs.

Charley Hoffman put in a sterling effort at the US Open, he eventually finished T45 but he was in contention until his triple bogey on the easy 10th, his last hole of round two. That seemed to knock the stuffing out of him, but he can bounce back with a good showing at the Travelers.

The 36-year-old arrives in Connecticut with his game in good shape. He has recorded five top-20 finishes in his last nine starts and will be desperate to make up for last year’s heartbreak; Hoffman finished double bogey-bogey to lose by one shot and hand the title to Marc Leishman.

Several players will experience a come down after the US Open, not Charley Hoffman - he should be spurred on by last year’s defeat. At 50/1 (Betfred) he looks a good each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
