Travelers Championship Tips: Camilo Villegas
Finished T10 at the St Jude Classic despite a cold putter. If he sinks a few more, he should improve on last year’s T29.
A fortnight ago, I discussed how Camilo Villegas was coming out of his slump, he proved me right with a T10 finish at the St. Jude Classic but it could have been so much better.
The 31-year-old couldn’t buy a putt all week, he ranked 55th for strokes gained putting which showed how well the rest of his game was working.
Having won three times on tour I have no qualms about the Colombian’s temperament and he should enjoy TPC River Highlands, a course he’s played well at before.
He finished T21 back in 2006 and last year he finished T29 after shooting a blistering 64 on Friday. At 80/1 (Stan James) he looks a cracking each way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
