The Greenbrier Classic Tips: Roberto Castro
Finished T7 last year and impressive second place at Congressional last week where he sat atop the leaderboard for the first three days.
I’ve always been a massive Roberto Castro fan and I expect him to carry on the form that saw him finish second at last week’s AT&T National.
He has always been a quality ball striker but I was particularly impressed by the way he handled the pressure. He led, or shared the lead for each of the first three rounds at Congressional but wasn’t overawed by his position.
The ability to handle pressure was the big question mark over his game but he seems to have learnt the lessons from the Players Championship, where he equalled the course record in round one but was 15 shots worse in round two.
Before last week his highest finish on the PGA Tour was a T7 in last year’s Greenbrier Classic. He returns to The Old White TPC at the top of his game and looks sure to go close at 50/1 (Paddy Power). Back him each-way and get ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
